A subsidiary of Temasek Holdings,[2][3] it wholly owns shipping company American President Lines, now known as APL and its sister logistics arm APL Logistics.
They have made an offer of 5 billion pounds GBS on Hapag Lloyd shipping line based in Hamburg, Germany.
It is the third biggest ship company in the world in 2010.
