Kasganj is a city and a District Headquarter of Kanshi Ram Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Geography

Kasganj is located at coord|27.82|N|78.65|E| [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/36/Kasganj.html Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Kasganj] ] . It has an average elevation of 177 metres (580 feet).It is famous for chaat and shonpapdi.The main attraction point of Kasganj is Nadrai ka Pul. Kasganj city is now in Kanshiram Nagar Distt.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Kasganj had a population of 92,485. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Kasganj has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 55%. In Kasganj, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
