Romsdal Peninsula (Norwegian "Romsdalshalvøya") is a 1560 km² peninsula located in the landscape
Romsdal inMøre og Romsdal county inNorway . It is connected to the mainland by a 5 km wide landbridge between Eidsvåg and Eidsøra, and is flanked by a number of fjords:Langfjord andRomsdalsfjord to the south,Julsund (to the west),Hustadvika to the north,Kornstadfjord andKvernesfjord to the north-east, andTingvollfjord andSunndalsfjord to the east. The peninsula encompasses the municipalities ofMolde ,Gjemnes ,Fræna , andEide , and most ofNesset .About 45,000 people live on the peninsula, with another 10,000 on the adjacent islands.
