Robert Anthony Bruer (born May 22, 1953 in Madison, Wisconsin) is a former American football tight end for the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings from 1979 until 1983

Professional career

Bruer played for the San Francisco 49ers for a couple of years, and moved to the Minnesota Vikings for the remainder of his career. Bruer was relatively unknown to the National Football League, and retired early because of his lack of playing time.

Post-NFL

Bruer now coaches football at the Minnesota State University, Mankato.
