Ratta Matta is a town and Union Council of Jhang District in the Punjab province of Pakistan [ [http://www.nrb.gov.pk/lg_election/union.asp?district=13&dn=Jhang Tehsils & Unions in the District of Jhang - Government of Pakistan] ] located on the Jhang-Lalian road.Before the land reforms of Ayub Khan, the Sayyads of the town held proprietorship of 12 villages including: Ratta, Matta, Hashim Wala, Rajay Wala, Khalar Awan, Panjgirain, Shergarh and Pippal.This town rose to national prominence because of the famous politicians of the town.
