The station later changed calls to WSLC-FM and adopted the country format of it's sister station , WSLC-AM, which had been a country station for almost 50 years, ( WSLC-AM later broke off the simulcast and changed calls to WVBE-AM and began simulcasting the R&B format of sister station WVBE-FM at 101.1 "The Vibe" in Lynchburg )
*Mel Wheeler, Inc. bought the station in 2000, along with WXLK-FM, WSLQ-FM, and WFIR-AM
