Bahadurgarh was founded by Hari and formerly known as king of the world. Mughal Emperor Alamgir II (The Sultan of Delhi 1754-1759) gave the town to Bahadur Khan and Tej Khan, two Baluchis of Farrukhannagar. A fort named Bahadurgarh Fort was constructed there by them. Bahadurgarh came into the hands of Sindhia in 1793. After his defeat in 1803 at the hands of the British, Lord Lake handed the town to the brother of the Nawab of Jhajjar. It was confiscated after the First War of Independence (1857) and became a division of the Rohtak district in 1860.
The town and its villages have been the birth-place of Martyrs & Heroes of the Indian Armed Forces. Someof its famous martyrs are Brig. Hoshiyar Singh Rathee of Sankhol, Capt Amit Verma of Bharai, Hav Jai Parkash Singh of Desalpur, Signalman Vinod Kumar of Jaitpur, Lance Naik Shyam Singh of Nilothi, Granadier Surender Singh of Subana, Naik Leela Ram of Jatwara, Naik Ramphal of Soldha, Sepoy Dharamvir of Dhakla, Hav Hari Om of Khunghai.

Bahadurgarh has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Area of Bahadurgarh city is approx. 50 sq. km. Bahadurgarh is one of the fastest developing Town in the NCR region. It is located to the west of Delhi on the National Highway Number 10. As of 2007, Bahadurgarh is gaining popularity as a residential locale for businessmen and public sector employees working in Delhi. It has four residential sectors developed byHaryana Urban Development Authority HUDA. Sector-6 is the oldest and most developed of all. Surrounded by lush greenery, it is considered to be the most spacious sector developed in Haryana by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). It has good transportation links all around. The Footwear park at sector 16 & 17 is an upcoming industrial area. Education and Perfection
Bahadurgarh has always had a good choice of providing education. It has three engineering colleges with in city boundaries. Some of the famous education institutions are Bal Bharti School, St.Thomas School, DPS Bahadurgarh, and S.R. Century Public School.
Bahadurgarh is in close proximity with Gurgaon (30 km), IT hub in NCR region. Therefore IT and Management institutes have a good option for their student's placements.
PDM College of Engineering and Haryana Institute of Technology are the two engineering colleges and a new one is up-coming on Jhajjar Road.Religious Point

The Sacred Dargah of Sayyad Baba at Jhajjar Road, Lord Hanuman Temple on NH-10, The Temple of Saint Kabir Sahib near the Govt. Girls school , One of the oldest Mahaveer Mandir in Main Bazar, Lord Shiva's Temple at Sector-2 and Shaktimata Peeth; one of the most beautiful temples in sector -6 are some of the most important places of worship in Bahadurgarh.

Mr. Rajender Singh Joon of Congress(I) Party is presently M.L.A here. Mr. Nafe Singh Rathee (Indian National Lokdal) Ex-M.L.A is the main Opponent & others are Mr. Ramesh Dalal from Haryana Swatantra Party, Mr.Jitender Lathar from BSP & Sh. Ashok Gupta (Haryana Janhit Congress (BL)). Bahadurgarh is mainly a Jat belt area & now after parisiman changes it will attach with Rohtak Constituency.
