CJBQ 800 AM is a
country music radio station in Belleville,Ontario ,Canada . It is owned by Quinte Broadcasting along with Mix 97 and Rock 107. CJBQ broadcasts with 10,000 (ERP) watts from a site south of Belleville and Trenton inPrince Edward County . Famous broadcasters from this station include Milt Johnston and Jack Devine.The station had been noted for it's long-running Open Line Program hosted for decades by Milt Johnston and later for 22 weeks by Peter Thompson, former on-air personality in Windsor and
Toronto . After Thompson's retirement, current Promotions Manager Lorne Brooker stepped in as the new host with the show renamed The Lorne Brooker TV Radio Show. The current line-up consists of Matt Mitchell on the morning drive, The Lorne Brooker Show, Steve Marlin on middays and Ingrid Moore on the afternoon drive. Jim Wright hosts mornings on Saturdays and Sundays.Many weekend listeners were thrilled to hear that popular host Jim Wright had returned to the airwaves on August 30th, 2008 after taking the summer off. Wright's show features classic country music from the 1940's through the 1980's and is very popular among seniors in the area. The station has been pleasantly surprised that a younger demographic is listening to Wright's Classic Country shows but not only for the music and Wright's friendly banter.

* 1946 - CJBQ begins operation on AM 1230 with 250 watts.
* 1957 - CJBQ moves to AM 800 with 1,000 watts Bi-directional radial power aimed at Belleville and opposite radial on the Main Duck islands.
* 1962 - CJBQ-FM signs on.
* 1970 - CJBQ's AM signal increases to 10,000 watts.
* 1984 - CJBQ disaffiliates from the CBC Radio as CBCP-FM signs on.
* 1988 - CJBQ begins broadcasting inAM stereo .
