KUKC-LP is a low-powered broadcast television station in Kansas City, Missouri and is licensed to the city with offices in Overland Park, Kansas. KUKC is a licensed Univision network affiliate and the only Spanish-language television station in the area. It is owned and operated by Equity Media Holdings, which programs KUKC via satellite from its headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas.

KUKC has a construction permit for a low-power digital transmitter on channel 39.

History

KUKC began its broadcasting operation as late as the early-1990s as a low-powered Value Vision affiliate, K29CF. To make way for the new, full-powered KCWB, the station moved in the mid-1990s to channel 48, as K48FS. In January 2005, after Equity's purchase of channel 48, the station was re-called KUKC-LP, to reflect its new Univision affiliation. Univision can be found on most cable systems in Kansas City; however, the national feed is carried, not KUKC. KUKC-LP can be found on channel 19 on Sunflower Broadband in Lawrence, Kansas and western Kansas City, Kansas.

In 2006, it introduced its own website, designed by Broadcast Interactive Media.
