Souleiman Ghali American-MuslimPreacher and former head of the Islamic Society of San Francisco.

Mr. Souleiman Ghali is founder and former President of theIslamic Society of San Francisco, an umbrella organization establishedin 1991 to administer the largest Mosque in San Francisco, as well asother local institutions. Souleiman is an avid proponent of dialoguebetween the faith communities and has been working tirelessly to raiseconsciousness about Islam.Souleiman truly believes in working to eliminate religiouslymotivated conflicts and wars and in bridging the widening gap betweenChristians, Jews and Muslims. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Mr. Ghalicame to the U.S. as a college student. Souleiman holds a degree inActivism and Social Change. He is a husband, father of two boys,Ibrahim and Muhammad, a resident of the Bay Area and a downtownSan Francisco business owner. Mr. Ghali believes in advancing theunderstanding of Islam as a tolerant and just religion through hisprominent public speaking and advocacy for American Muslims.Mr. Ghali has been featured in many articles in the San FranciscoChronicle and has been hosted on radio and television programs bothnationally and internationally. He is a regular speaker and lecturerabout Islam at many churches, synagogues, universities and businesses.Souleiman has also worked with the Commonwealth Club and theWorld Affairs Council. In brief, Souleiman is one of the most activeMuslims in the Bay Area, working tirelessly to foster a bettercommunity for all.
