"Du bist" ("You are") was the Austrian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, performed in German by Tie Break. It was the only song in the Austrian semi-finals of this year to be sung in German.

As Alf Poier had pre-qualified Austria for the final, the song was performed second on the night (following Spain's Ramón with "Para llenarme de ti" and preceding Norway's Knut Anders Sørum with "High"). At the close of voting, it had received 9 points, placing 21st in a field of 24 and forcing Austria to qualify from the semi-final at their next appearance.

The song proved slightly controversial before the Contest, with former entrants Waterloo & Robinson (the band which finished second in Austria's qualification system) protesting as the song was longer than the legal 3 minutes (the CD version is clocked at between 3:09 and 3:11, depending on the player). The protest was not upheld, and Tie Break represented Austria [1].
The song itself is a boy band ballad, with the singers describing the various qualities of their lovers.Although the song did not do well in the final it peaked at #44 on the Austrian Singles Chart and it remained there for ten weeks.

It was succeeded as Austrian representative at the 2005 Contest by Global Kryner with "Y así".
