DnaQ

DnaQ

dnaQ is a protein required for DNA replication in bacteria. It is the ε (epsilon) subunit of the DNA polymerase III holoenzyme. [ Huang Y, Braithwaite DK, Ito J. [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=9000520&dopt=Citation Evolution of dnaQ, the gene encoding the editing 3' to 5' exonuclease subunit of DNA polymerase III holoenzyme in Gram-negative bacteria.] FEBS Lett. 1997 Jan 2;400(1):94-8. ] The ε subunits' role is to remove misincorporated bases from DNA.
