It begins with mid-tempo interplay between guitaristJimmy Page and drummerJohn Bonham before settling into asotto voce groove. The song evolves into a slow blues epic, featuring lyrics which deal withhomesickness and loneliness. Much of this was felt byRobert Plant , who recalls sitting alone in aNew York hotel during a U.S.concert tour drinking "tea for one".
