Darrell Mansfield is an American gospel/blues musician.

Biography

Mansfield got his musical start in 1974, releasing his first album Gentle Faith in 1976. He later formed the Darrell Mansfield Band. Over the years he has recorded and toured the US and Europe, as well as the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

Mansfield has contributed vocals and harmonica to many other artists' recordings, including Eddie Van Halen, Jon Bon Jovi, Raphael Saadiq, Adam Again and Loverboy. He has also played alongside Jimmy Hall, Joe Turner, Richie Sambora, Billy Idol, Ted Nugent, Five Blind Boys, Earl Slick, Rick Derringer and Billy Sheehan.

In 2008, Mansfield admitted that he had tried to commit suicide several times due to mental illness.[citation needed]

Mansfield was inducted into the Hohner Harmonica Hall of Fame in 1980 and is the "Ambassador to California" for the Blues Hall of Fame.[1][2]

Mansfield has released more than thirty albums.
