5 May 1982 inYork ) is a professional footballer who plays for Darlington in League Two as a striker.Career
Born to a Polish mother and an English father as the younger of two children, Abbott began his footballing career as a youth player at
ŁKS Łódź in Poland, before moving to Preston North End at the age of 19.He did not have the best time at Preston making only 20 appearances in three years and therefore subsequently had two loan spells at Bury.
In early 2004, "Pav" was signed on loan by Huddersfield Town as a makeshift replacement for
Jon Stead who had just been sold to Premiership side Blackburn Rovers. He scored on his debut after coming off the bench against Bristol Rovers. He was then bought for a fee of around £125,000.He caused Huddersfield to miss out on automatic promotion from Nationwide Division Three in 2003-04, after a poor back-pass to
goalkeeper Paul Rachubka on the last day of the season in a match against Cheltenham Town, which saw Torquay United achieve promotion instead. Huddersfield were subsequently promoted via the play-offs.In July 2006, Abbott rejected a move to Milton Keynes Dons as part of a deal or no deal with their defender
Dean Lewington . He said that he wanted to fight for a first-team place againstGary Taylor-Fletcher ,Andy Booth ,John McAliskey and new signingLuke Beckett .On
January 22 2007 , he signed for Swansea on a two and a half year deal for a transfer fee of £150,000. [ [http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/darlington/6278512.stm Abbott joins Quakers from Swans] ]In April 2008, Abbott took part in a question and answer session for 'Darlo Uncovered', an unofficial website of
Darlington F.C. , where - as well as responding to a number of questions regarding his career - he reassured one Darlington supporter over the future of the British economy. [ [http://darlington.rivals.net/News/pgArticle.aspx?artid=13750_3403234&id=30 Pawel Abbott Answers Back] ]References
