Yaasiin (Xaaji/Hagi) Cismaan/Cusmaan Keenadiid (Yasin Osman Keenadiid) is a member of the Keenadiid family. He is related to Ali Yusuf Keenadiid, the former sultan of Hobyo (see Northern Somali sultanates) and to the brother of Ali Yusuf, the creator of the Osmanya alphabet Ciismaan Yuusuf Keenadiid (Osman Yusuf Keenadiid).Yasin Osman Keenadiid is especially known as one of the thirteen founders of the influential Somali Youth League (SYL) and as member of the National Somali Language Committee that decided on the standard spelling of modern Somali.
His best known book is the dictionary that was the only standard Somali dictionary for decades:
