Too Good Arm is an outport located on New World Island in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It neighbours the communities of Pike's Arm and Cobb's Arm and is the terminus of Route 346.

The community's first postmistress was Gladys B. BathFact|date=July 2008.

History

In 1994, two years after the Government of Canada declared a moratorium on the Atlantic cod fishery [ [http://archives.cbc.ca/on_this_day/07/02/ On This Day - July 2, 1992 - CBC Archives] ] , an inshore fisherman from Too Good Arm became the first Newfoundlander in history to be charged for jigging cod to feed his family [http://www.nald.ca/CLR/social/book7/book7.pdf Newfoundland and Labrador AdultBasic Education Social History Series - Book 7 - Surviving in Rural Newfoundland] .

Most services are provided in nearby communities or towns. A convenience store is located approximately 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) away in Cobb's Arm. The closest supermarkets are located in Virgin Arm and Twillingate, approximately 24 kilometres (15 mi) and 22 kilometers (13.5 mi) away, respectively. Residents generally travel to Twillingate, Lewisporte, or Gander for shopping.

Primary and secondary students are transported by bus to New World Island Academy, a K-12 public school in Summerford.

High speed internet [ [http://www.kittiwake.nf.ca/newsreleases/Thirteen.html Kittiwake Economic Development Corporation] ] (DSL) and landline telephone service are provided by Aliant. Although there are no cable television providers, two over-the-air channels - NTV and CBC - are available.

Direct broadcast satellite signals intended for Star Choice and Bell TV set-top boxes can be received, and cellular phone coverage is provided by Aliant, TELUS, and other carriers.
