The Macon Music is a team of the independent South Coast League, based in Macon, Georgia. The team is not affilitated with Major or Minor League Baseball. They play at the historic Luther Williams Field.

The name "Music", suggested by a fan for a name-the-team contest, is a reference to the city of Macon's musical heritage. Macon has produced such artists as Lena Horne, Otis Redding, James Brown, Little Richard, The Allman Brothers Band, Young Jeezy, and most recently Jason Aldean. History

Luther Williams Field, home of the Music. The first baseball team to call the city of Macon home was the Macon Peaches of the South Atlantic League from 1904 to 1916, and from 1923 to 1930, playing at Central City Park. They would rejoin the South Atlantic League in 1936 intermittently until 1955, and also spent time in the Southern League and Southeastern League

The Macon Peaches were affiliated with many major league teams, including the Cincinnati Reds, the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Chicago Cubs, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Detroit Tigers. During the 1940s, the American Negro League also hosted a team in Macon.

In 1991, the Atlanta Braves moved their class-A team to the city, where they were called the Macon Braves. Chipper Jones was part of that inaugural Macon Braves team in 1991.

After the class-A Braves moved to Rome in 2002, the following season saw another team called the Macon Peaches. This Peaches team was a member of the Southeastern League, both of which folded in 2004.

The Macon Music of the South Coast League played in the 2007 season. The team was approved for play by the Macon City Council in February 2006. True to the musical heritage of the city, and on which the team name was based, the Music has offered a contract to "American Idol" season 5 winner Taylor Hicks.
