He quickly became one of the top pitching prospects in the Cleveland organization.After successful campaigns with San Felipe, Burlington and Lake County in by|2002, by|2003, and by|2004, Mujica dominated the
Carolina League as the closer with Kinston in by|2005, with a 2.08 ERA, 14 saves, 32strikeout s and just 2 walks in 26 innings before being promoted to Double-A Akron. He didn't miss a beat with the Aeros, going 2-1 with 10 saves, a 2.88 ERA, 33 strikeouts, and only five walks in 34⅓ innings.Mujica began by|2006 in Akron, where he recorded eight saves without surrendering an
earned run , 17 strikeouts, and nine walks in 19 innings before getting promoted to Triple-A Buffalo. For Buffalo, he was 3-1 with five saves, a 2.48 ERA, 29 strikeouts, and five walks in 32⅔ innings. He made his major league debut with Cleveland onJune 21 , mlby|2006.
