battle of Manzikert in1071 , whenSeljuk Turk s defeated EmperorRomanus IV Diogenes and enteredAnatolia . From then on the city came first under the rule of theAnatolian Seljuk Sultanate , and from 1467 on, of theOttoman Empire .Following
