Medford, Oregon and is an affiliate ofMy Network TV . The station is owned and operated bySainte Partners II, L.P. ofModesto, California . The company's chief executive officer is Robert Castro and the station's general manager is Peter Rogers. The station is operated fromChico, California .The station began using its My 48 logo when it launched on
July 3 ,2006 , even though the network didn't officially start its programming until September.KFBI became available on local cable television via
Charter Communications on channel 3 in both Medford and Klamath Falls as ofSeptember 5 , 2006.On
March 13 ,2007 , KFBI became the new Rogue Valley flagship station ofPortland Trail Blazers NBA basketball. It is also the Rogue Valley's flagship station forOakland Athletics andSan Francisco Giants Major League Baseball .KFBI, as of
October 10 ,2007 , also became available onDish Network on channels 48 and 7648.In November 2007, it was announced that KFBI and sister station
KMCW are up for sale. However, the station was not sold and remains Sainte property.It has plans to
flash-cut at channel 48, but the ERP has not been determined.Death of Chester Smith
The Sacramento Bee and Chico Enterprise Record have both reported that Chester Smith, founder of Sainte Partners, died on
August 8 , 2008, at Stanford Medical Center inPalo Alto ,California at age 78. He is survived by his wife Ann and his children. Despite Smith's death, Sainte will continue to own and operate KFBI and its sister stations in the Sainte family.Reference links
