- Jeroen Paul Thesseling
Jeroen Paul Thesseling is a Dutch bass player. Thesseling began studying bass guitar in 1988 at the Conservatory in Enschede, the Netherlands. During the period 1992-1994 he collaborated with the Dutch death metal band Pestilence by recording the jazz/fusion-influenced album SPHERES and touring Europe. In 1995 Jeroen started to study microtonality and developed a 72-tone equal temperament bass. A few years later he decided to concentrate primarily on playing fretless bass guitar. During the period 2003-2005 he has been touring with the flamenco ensemble of guitarist EL PERIQUIN. Since 2005 he participates in the recordings of ENSEMBLE SALAZHAR, a contemporary world music project. Late 2007 Jeroen joined the German death metal band OBSCURA. Currently the band is working on their second album, which will be released at the beginning of 2009. Thesseling is one of the very few bassists in the metal scene playing
