Kay T. Oslin was born in
Crossett, Arkansas , but soon after her birth her family moved toMemphis, Tennessee and then toHouston, Texas . Oslin considers Houston her hometown. She attendedMethodist -affiliatedLon Morris College inJacksonville, Texas .Oslin initially performed as a folk singer with
