Shorelink

Shorelink

Shorelink is a commuter bus company serving suburbs on the upper North Shore of Sydney, Australia. On September 3 2001, the company was acquired by French public transport giant Transdev from the John A Gilbert group.

Shorelink was formed from the amalgamation of Hornsby Bus Group and Ku-ring-gai Bus Co. In 1998 they acquired part of the former St Ives Bus Company.

Prior to the sale to Transdev, Shorelink also owned and operated Koala Tours coaches, this was sold to Murrays Coaches.

TransdevTSL Rebranding

After Transdev and Transfield Services began joint operations, Shorelink buses have been and will be rebranded in TransdevTSL livery. TransdevTSL is the Australian arm of French transport giant Transdev. The new look alludes to the Yarra Trams livery. Yarra Trams is also owned & run by TransdevTSL. The move is in a similar fashion to the bus companies owned by Veolia Transport being rebranded with their parent company's corporate name (Veolia.)

Tickets & Fares

Shorelink operates its own ticketing system, including smartcard-based multi-ride tickets. Fares are charged in line with those of other bus operators in Sydney. The company was participating in a trial of Tcard, Sydney's proposed integrated public transport ticketing system, until the system was abandoned in early 2008.
