Sombra-Marine City (Bluewater) Ferry

The Sombra-Marine City (Bluewater) Ferry is an United States/Canadian cross-border ferry service which runs from Lambton County Road 33/St. Clair Parkway (a former alignment of Highway 40) in Sombra, Ontario to M-29 in Marine City, Michigan. On the Ontario/Canadian side, the dock is on King Street. On the Michigander/American side, the dock is on Main Street.

The Bluewater Ferry currently runs two ships, the "Daldean" and the "Ontamich". The Daldean is larger and can carry 12 cars, while the Ontamich is capable of ferrying 9 cars.

As of April 2008 the ferry toll is $ 6.00 (CAN or US) for an automobile.

On occasion the ferry may not be able to operate because of heavy ice build up on one shore or the other. Toll free information on the Bluewater Ferry is available at 877-892-3879.

The first departure from the Canadian Side is 0640 and from the US at 0700.
