The current congregation is Faith Congregational Church, which has been at this location since Talcott Street Congregational Church merged with Mother Bethel Methodist Church in 1953 to become Faith Congregational Church.

Since its founding in 1819 Talcott Street Congregational Church has a history as an early African American church. The church is a stop on the Connecticut Freedom Trail and is listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places (1993).
