Republic of Cyprus

The Republic of Cyprus, which in principle covers the whole of the island (except the British bases of Akotiri and Dhekelia) in fact currently only governs the southern half of the island.

* South : Limassol (coord|34|39|N|32|59|E|name=Limassol) [The British base of Akrotiri, which occupies most of the Akotiri peninsula extends further south.]

Turkish republic of North Cyprus

North Cyprus, although not recognised by any other country than Turkey is the "de facto" ruler of the northern half of the island.
