Yarrangobilly Caves

Yarrangobilly Caves are located in the Kosciuszko National Park of New South Wales, Australia.Discovered by a cattleman, the Yarrangobilly Caves system includes several independent limestone caves formed over different time periods, the older examples being in higher strata and showing a greater density of decoration to lower, younger caves in the area. The National Parks and Wildlife Service administers the caves.

According to a plaque at the site, Leo James Hoad was associated with the caves from 1904-1950, serving as the official caretaker of the caves from 1919 to 1946. He discovered the Jillabenen Cave at the site in 1910.

Three caves are open to visitors, two for guided tours and the third for self-guided tours. The caves complex also includes a thermal pool, fed by natural hot springs, and a number of walking tracks. The fourth cave has recently been closed due to instability
