Market Fresh Sandwiches are deli-style sandwiches sold at Arby's roast beef fast food restaurants. Originally, Market Fresh Sandwiches were served in a box with potato chips, very similar to Subway and Port of Subs restaurants. Most Market Fresh sandwiches are served on Honey Wheat Berry Bread. Sprouts were an early toppings option, but were discontinued due to being unpopular.
The original lineup of sandwiches included Roast Beef and Swiss, Roast Turkey and Swiss, Roast Ham and Swiss, and Roast Chicken Caesar. Turkey and Swiss was by far the most popular, followed by the Ham and Swiss, Roast Beef and Swiss, and Chicken Caesar which was the least popular. With the exception of the Chicken Caesar, all Market Fresh Sandwiches came with the standard toppings (on the top slice) of Spicy Brown Honey Mustard, red onion rings, green leaf lettuce, tomato slices, and sliced Swiss cheese, and mayonnaise on the bottom slice. The next additions to the Market Fresh lineup, the Roast Turkey Ranch and Bacon and the Ultimate BLT. were limited time offers (LTO) but were added permanently to the menu due to their excellent sales.
The next sandwich in the Market Fresh lineup was the LTO Market Fresh Five-Star Club, served on Harvest White Bread, which was not added to the menu. After this the line was expanded to include other styles of speciality sandwiches, the Italian Beef and Provolone and Pot Roast sandwich, served on baguettes.
In early 2004, Arby's added Market Fresh Salads, including the Martha's Vineyard, Asian Chicken, and Santa Fe salads. Later the Chicken Club salad would be added to this line. Also in early 2004 Low Carb Wraps were introduced.
