Full Contact Origami

Full Contact Origami

Full Contact Origami is a film production company based in Brooklyn, New York, with affiliations in New York City, NY and Tulsa and Norman, Oklahoma.

The name "Full Contact Origami" was taken from a college entrance essay written by Hugh Gallagher.

History

First Incarnation

Full Contact Origami originally began as an artist collective in the fall of 2002.

Jesse Richard Bowline and Tony DeLesDernier conceived Full Contact Origami as a way to support the young artist underground of Tulsa. Reasoning that it would be easier for the arts to stay vital if the artists had a way to stay in contact and collaborate easily, Bowline and DeLesDernier hoped to reinspire what they had come to view as a stagnant scene for musicians and visual artists.

Sharing an idealist spirit, Bowline and DeLesDernier worked to bring artists and musicians into the Full Contact Origami fold. However, they had difficulty devoting enough energy to FCO to keep it relevant, due to their day jobs and Bowline's studies at the University of Tulsa.

Full Contact Origami limped through the spring and summer of 2003 as little more than a reference point. When Bowline moved to New York City in August, the initial incarnation of Full Contact Origami dissolved.

Reincarnation

After Bowline's move to New York, he began writing screenplays. During the summer of 2005, it occurred to him that Full Contact Origami could be revived. Working closely with his brother, Bowline began researching ways to produce his own screenplays.

In early 2006, [http://www.fullcontactorigami.net fullcontactorigami.net] was launched, marking the first major move by the company to achieve more widespread public recognition.

As of May 2006, FCO is gathering funding to produce its first film, a short entitled "Transatlanticism".
