The Ahmedabad-Vadodara Highway is a major artery of public transport connecting the cities of
Ahmedabad andVadodara , also known asBaroda in the state ofGujarat ,India .The 95 km long expressway reduces the travel time between the two cities from about 2.5 hours on National Highway 8 (NH8) to about an hour now. NH8 was amongst the busiest national highways in India.
This expressway has 2 lane each side and one service lane. there are only two exits provided for
Nadiad (50 km from Vadodara)andAnand (35 km from Vadodara). It is of international standard. Though the speed limit for car is 100 km/h you can often see the cars with faster speed due to less traffic. It is a part of theGolden Quadrilateral Project byNHAI . Two-wheeler vehicles are forbidden on the road due to safety concerns. It was one of the major highlights ofIndia Shining campaign by theBJP coalition-government led byAtal Bihari Vajpayee ee also
