"Guncrazy" is a 1992 American crime/drama/thriller film. It was directed by Tamra Davis and written by Matthew Bright.

Tagline: "Love made them crazy. Guns made them outlaws."

Plot

A teenager (Barrymore) murders her stepfather, who is sexually abusing her, after he teaches her how to use a gun and, through a school correspondence course, she meets a prison inmate, who she seduces back into the world of violence and guns.

She marries the ex-convict, Howard, and she decides to show Howard the remains of her stepfather, and Howard helps her dispose of the body. It is worth noting that the letters that Howard sent the girl described his fascination with guns.

The title is certainly fitting because Howard and the girl (Barrymore) share a fascination with guns, and thus unsurprisingly, they are armed with hand guns no matter the occasion. After they despose of the stepfathers dead body, the plot depicts a chain of events where Howard is provoked by several people all of whom are male. Howard commits several homicides, although he was provoked in every instance. While Howard is not without blameworthyness for his actions, he was provoked, but none of homicides were necessary (he could have avoided killing the victims).

Before the mass homicides, there is some character development of Howard-the viewer learns when Howard meets with his parole officer that Howard wants to work for Smith & Wesson as a gun shooter. Naturally, he is dismayed when the parole officer states that he being an ex-con has no chance of embarking on such a career.

The movie ends in a blaze of glory style shootout with the police.
