Location of Springbank inAlberta Alberta in the Municipal District of Rocky View. Springbank is located immediately west of the City of Calgary and extends west to Highway 22 and north to theBow River . Both theTrans-Canada Highway and Lower Springbank Road (north of Highway 8) connect Springbank to Calgary.The eastern portion of Springbank has been annexed by Calgary and is now known as Springbank Hill (a neighbourhood). Both areas are known for their relatively many estate homes and acreages. The adjacent communities of Bearspaw and Elbow Valley are similarly composed of large estates.
Springbank is named after Springbank Creek which flows southeast into the
Elbow River . The descriptive name for this creek was first applied to themunicipal district in 1918 (M.D. of Springbank). It was first given as a school name circa 1887-89 because of the numerous springs breaking out of the sides of the lesser coulees all over the district. Springbank is home to Calgary's second most important airport, Springbank Airport.

amusement park in Calgary,Calaway Park .Golf courses in Springbank include the "Pinebrook Golf Club", "Glencoe Golf and Country Club", "Springbank Links Golf Course" and "Elbow Springs Golf Course".
