Four Oaks railway station serves the Four Oaks area of Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, England. It is situated on the Cross-City Line. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by London Midland.

History

The station opened in 1884, when the London and North Western Railway's line from Birmingham to Sutton Coldfield was extended to Lichfield. More recently, in 1978 Four Oaks became the northern terminus of the new Cross-City Line, although this was later extended further north to Lichfield City and eventually to Lichfield Trent Valley.

ervices

The standard weekday pattern sees two trains an hour between Lichfield Trent Valley and Longbridge, two between Lichfield City and Longbridge, and two between Four Oaks and Redditch.

Hence, from Four Oaks there are six trains southbound an hour, four to Longbridge and two continuing to Redditch. All trains call at Birmingham New Street. Northbound, two trains operate to Lichfield City and two to Lichfield Trent Valley. Two services terminate at Four Oaks.

On Saturdays, four services operate, trains from Lichfield City continuing to Redditch; this gives two trains to each of Lichfield City, Lichfield Trent Valley, Longbridge and Redditch.

On Sundays, trains run the whole length of the line, calling all stations, every 30 minutes.
