Pont Reading is the name of the Haverford, Pennsylvania residence of shipbuilder and architect Joshua Humphreys, in which he lived his entire life, named after his family's homestead, Reading Pont in England. Humphreys is most notable for his design of the famous USS "Constitution", or "Old Ironsides". Built in 1730 around a log cabin dating to 1683, the rear kitchen wing was added in 1813. [ [http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.pnp/hhh.pa0419 Pont Reading House] at the Historic American Buildings Survey] The building is an excellent example of upper-class colonial architecture.

Today, the house, which remains a private residence, draws minimal tourist attention, but is listed on the Historic American Building Survey and National Register of Historic Places.
