Assembly Now are a four-piece indie rock band from London, England. Their first three-song demo was produced by John Fortis (Razorlight, Art Brut) and Howard Gray (The Cure, U2, Apollo 440) at Apollo Control Studios in February 2006. Two of the songs from this unreleased demo, "It's Magnetic" and "Out On 24s", were subsequently released as a limited edition single in August 2006 to near-universal critical acclaim. A second vinyl-only single, "Leigh-On-Sea", was released on January 29 2007 to further critial acclaim from renowned publications such as "NME", "The Fly" and "Artrocker". They toured with The Wombats and The Noisettes throughout April and May, and appeared at Wireless Festival in Leeds and London.

"It's Magnetic" was featured in an episode of teen drama "Hollyoaks".

Assembly Now released their third single, "Graphs, Maps & Trees", on August 6, which has been played repeatedly on BBC Radio One by Colin Murray, Virgin Radio and XFM. The music video is currently being featured on MTV2's "Spanking New" show, a rare achievement for an unsigned band. [http://www.assemblynow.com/blog_archive/2007_07_13_archive.html]

On 7th September, the night of their gig at Koko in London, the band announced that Andrew Lusher, the band's drummer for two years, had decided to leave with the band. He stated in a quote on the band's website that it was due to "musical differences". It was announced that John Sutton (brother of bassist Howard Sutton) was to take over as drummer.
