The Holy Sisters of the Gaga Dada

The Holy Sisters of the Gaga Dada

The Holy Sisters of the Gaga Dada are an eclectic band from Santa Cruz, California, USA. They were voted "Best Alternative Rock Band of the Year" by L.A. Weekly. [ [http://www.hometown-pasadena.com/maryjean_shaffer.html Mary Jean Shaffer interview] , "Hometown Pasadena" on-line magazine, November 27, 2006, Prospect Park Publishing] The brainchild of keyboardist [http://scum.wikia.com/wiki/Mary_Jean_Shaffer Mary Jean Shaffer] , the Holy Sisters reveled in eccentric, quasi-religious imagery and feminist politics. Other original members included [http://scum.wikia.com/wiki/Heidi_Puckett Heidi Puckett] (guitar) and a woman named Blanca. But as the band morphed from conceptual entity to frequent club performers, Blanca left and two new members were added, [http://scum.wikia.com/wiki/Jill_Fido Jill Fido] (of [http://scum.wikia.com/wiki/The_Schematix The Schematix] ) (bass) and [http://scum.wikia.com/wiki/Charles_Bingham Charles Bingham] (of [http://scum.wikia.com/wiki/The_Satellites The Satellites] ) (drums). [http://scum.wikia.com/wiki/Kim_Sockit Kim Sockit] later replaced Heidi, and [http://scum.wikia.com/wiki/Zero_Jessephski%2C_Jr. Zero Jessephski, Jr.] replaced Charles, making The Holy Sisters of the Gaga Dada an all-female band. The group would later move to Hollywood, California.
