Marxy

Marxy is the recording name of W. David Marx, an American currently living in Tokyo. His work primarily consists of melodic pop songs, with a mixture of influences ranging from JPop to psychedelia to video game music. Marx experiments with time signature and overtone singing, as well as structural elements that comment on the conventions of popular music.

Marx is also a writer, with articles and translations published in GQ, Harper's Magazine, Nylon for Guys, Cyzo, The Fader, Tokion, and many others. He has a column titled "Fight, this Generation!" in the Japanese culture magazine OK Fred.
