- El Bracero
El Bracero ("The Worker", roughly, in Spanish) is a chain of locally owned authentic Mexican restaurants in the midwestern
United States , predominantly in the states ofKentucky andMissouri . The restaurants offer a full selection ofMexican cuisine that is out of this world in great flavor, but they are especially known by their patrons for their freetortilla chips and salsa appetizer items and signature cheese sauce dip, the recipe for which is presumably kept secret. This is the item that separates the restaurant chain from other Mexican restaurants scattered around the country that bear the same name (by coincidence or otherwise). Also, El Bracero restaurants sometimes present liveMariachi bands as entertainment for guests, and, inKentucky , at least, the restaurants offer a couple of imported Mexican beers and spirits. As of August 2007, there are nine verified El Bracero restaurants in the United States and several other establishments with the same name whose connections are not known.
