Baldwin Village, Los Angeles, California

Baldwin Village, alternatively known as "The Jungle" is a notorious community in Los Angeles, infamous for its gang-related violence. Baldwin Village is officially part of the Crenshaw district, and is home to a majority of the members of the Black P. Stones gang, which is affiliated with the Bloods, and is centered around Hillcrest Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Although Baldwin Village is adjacent to one of the most affluent African American neighborhood in Los Angeles, Baldwin Hills, it is one of the most notoriously violent places in city and is known across the state for its strong gangs ties. Recently, former NBA star Earvin "Magic" Johnson and others have discussed revitalization plans for the area.
