Paul Henry (poet)

Paul Henry is an award-winning British poet who was born in Aberystwyth in 1959. He was originally a singer-songwriter.

History

After winning a Gregory Award in 1989 he refused an offer from an English publisher, electing instead for the Welsh based company Seren. His work has been widely anthologised and poems regularly appear in journals such as Poetry Wales and The Times Literary Supplement. He recently received a published writer's award from Academi.

Other interests

Paul Henry is also a creative writing tutor, regularly running courses at Wales's writers' centre (Ty Newydd) and has lectured at the University of Glamorgan. Now based in South Wales, he has read his poetry at various venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. Henry is currently a featured poet in the UK pages of Poetry Web International.
