Powell River Kings

The Powell River Kings are a Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey team from Powell River, British Columbia, Canada. They are a part of the British Columbia Hockey League.

Powell River joined the BCJHL for the start of the 1988-89 season with the name the "Paper Kings", when they assumed the Delta Flyers franchise. They dropped the "Paper" from their name for the start of the 1998-99 season. :Powell River Paper Kings 1988 - 1998:Powell River Kings 1998 to Present

A few former players have gone on to the NHL. Brad Bombardir won a Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils, Jeff Hoggan is currently under contract to the Boston Bruins, Robb Gordon was a 2nd round draft choice of the Vancouver Canucks playing in 2 games, Dean Malkoc played for Vancouver and Boston and George Zajankala suited up for the Pittsburgh Penguins for a handful of games. Other draftees are forward Scott Kirton(Chicago)and goaltender Peter Brady(Vancouver).
