List of Dukes of Alba

The Dukes of Alba (es:"Duque de Alba"), are Spanish nobility and Grandees of Spain. The title was created by King Henry IV of Castile and given to García Alvarez de Toledo, who was count of Alba de Tormes.

Some of the most famous were Don Fernando Alvarez de Toledo, 3rd Duke of Alba, who was also known under the general "Duke of Alba" or simply "Alba". Another famous Alba member was Doña María del Pilar Teresa Cayetana de Silva y Álvarez de Toledo, 13th Duchess of Alba, known simply as the "Duchess of Alba" who was a muse of the painter Francisco Goya.
Members of the Duke of Alba family married into the families of Christopher Columbus and Cosmo de Medici and the line of the Duke of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
