Brown was born in
Waukegan, Illinois . After attendingTriton Community College , he was drafted by the Twins in the first round (ninth overall) of the 1986 draft. He played in the major leagues from 1991 through 1995, seeing only limited playing time. He was a remarkably fast runner, but did not possess similar talents where hitting was concerned. He had only 227 at bats in the majors, with a career batting average of .203. He hit one home run in his career and drove in ten runs. He did, however, steal thirteen bases.Brown has a
World Series ring, when he was used almost exclusively as apinch runner by the world champion1991 Minnesota Twins .
