Da BackWudz

Da BackWudz is a rap duo from Decatur, Georgia consisting of Marcus "Big Marc" Thomas and James "Sho Nuff" Redding.

Early Career

Before their debut album had even been released, Da Backwudz had already gained many accolades. They were featured as one of the five top acts of 2005 on MTV's Fab 5 of summer 2005 alongside Young Jeezy, Paul Wall, Juelz Santana and Tony Yayo. They were on the MTV Sucker Free Sunday Tour with Mike Jones, Young Jeezy, Lil Scrappy, Slim Thug, Trillville, Young Gunz and Memphis Bleek as well. MTV also featured them on their "You Hear It First" & "Discover & Download" shows. They have also been featured in such magazines as The Source, Rolling Stone, and Vibe. They were a part of BET's Black College Tour in 2005.

Career

They are signed to Dallas Austin's Rowdy Records. Their first single, "You Gonna Love Me" was released in 2005 and the video received a fair amount of airplay on MTV and BET. Da BackWudz's CD "Wood Work" features guest appearances from artists such as Nas, Slim Thug, George Clinton, Caz Clay, Duder, Big Gipp, Sade, Killer Mike, and Milwaukee Black.

They performed for Cartoon Network's "New Fridays" during the Summer of 2006.

Labratz

Big Marc and Sho Nuff joined with Heavy Slim and G Wiz to form the Labratz with Sol Messiah as their in-house producer. The group released one album called Atlantis Rising before disbanding.
