Thornton is a village and also a civil parish within Aylesbury Vale district in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located about three miles north east of Buckingham.
The village name is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means 'thorn tree by a farm'. In the Domesday Book of 1086 the village was recorded as "Torentone".
