**under the (Western) Ganga dynasty'sMaharaja Dharma ofTalakad (in modernKarnataka state), heading a cabinet which further included theSandhivigrahi (Minister for war and peace), theDandanayaka , the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces,Srikaranadhikari (minister of Finance and Revenue),Manemagatine orManevergade (Steward of the Royal household) andHiriyabhandari (in charge of accounts and keeping of records); sometimes, thePurohita too found a place in this Council of Ministers, advising in matters of religion
