Judith Chaplin

Sybil Judith Chaplin, known as Judith Chaplin, (19 August 1939 – 19 February 1993) was a politician in the United Kingdom. Having been a councillor on Norfolk County Council, she was Private Secretary and political assistant to John Major as Chancellor of the Exchequer and Prime Minister. She was elected to Parliament for Newbury at the 1992 election for the Conservatives.

She died (after only 316 days as an MP) during a routine hospital operation. The by-election was won by David Rendel, a Liberal Democrat.
