Curriculum
College-bound students can begin earning college credits from
California State University, Sacramento through an Accelerated College Entrance program held on campus. The school also offers three career academy programs to students in grades 10-12: the Automotive Academy and Construction Academy programs, offered through a joint agreement withCosumnes River College , and the Health Academy at El Dorado High.Extracurricular activities
Athletics
El Dorado High School fields athletic teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track & field, volleyball, ski & snowboard racing, and wrestling in the
Sac-Joaquin Section of the California Interscholastic Federation.The school is known for its excellent ski and snowboard team, both teams winning numerous league and state championships. With 24 league titles in the past 27 years, the ski/snowboard team is one of the most dominant high school sports programs in the country over the last 3 decades.
Apart from skiing/snowboarding, the school holds twelve team championships, including eight girls' volleyball titles (1983-1986, 1991, 1996, 1998 and 1999). [Sac-Joaquin Section. El Dorado moved down into the Pioneer Valley Leaugue in 2006, and has started to dominate in the league. Now that El Dorado is in the proper division for it's school size, they have become division champions for soccer, volleyball, wresteling, women's swimming, and cross country. some of these teams have even advanced further into their division/league play-offs.
