Little Flower School Jamshedpur is one of the premier institutions of Jamshedpur imparting quality education primarily to the wards of the employees of Tata Motors. An English medium co-educational school, it prepares students for ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination) and ISC (Indian School Certificate Examination).

Aim

The school aims to form young men and women intellectually, physically and morally in order to take their rightful place in the world. Special emphasis is placed on development of responsibility, co-operation and generosity, or simply put the development of character. Hence, intellectual development is balanced by student participation in extracurricular activities and the school provides every possible opportunity to hone their talents and skills.It is a great platform for students to prepare themselves for the rigors of future life.

Course of Study

Little Flower School is an English medium co-education School for children of Tata Motor' employees regardless of position, caste or creed.The school under the administration of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny. The School prepares students for:

* The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(I.C.S.E.) at the end of Class 10.
* The Indian School Certificate Examination(ISC) at the end of class 12.

These examinations are conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.

Admission and Withdrawal

Registration and testing of children for Upper Kindergarten only take place towards the end of the scholastic year. A candidate who has attended a recognized school cannot be admitted without a transfer certificate from the school he/she last attended. Inter-State transfers require the counter-signature of the Deputy Secretary of the council either located at Calcutta or Delhi or the District Education Officer of the place where the previous school is located. Christian pupils must also produce their Baptism Certificate.

Discipline

A strict but kind discipline is exercised. Respect for authority is essential. Students of the senior school together with the faculty are responsible for the good order of the school.

Administration

Currently the school is under the able administration of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny. The Principal Sister Hilda (ad-hoc, has replaced Sr. Helena), is assisted by the Vice-Principal Mrs. Samuel.

The School

A strict code of discipline is maintained within the school campus which aims to mould the character of students. An excellent standard of education is maintained, thanks to the presence of a set of highly qualified and dedicated faculty.

Winning is a habit amongst the students of LFS. The number of awards and accolades won by them consistently, speaks for itself. Students excel equally at quizzing, debating, athletics and academics.

In 2005 Sourabh Chatterjee, cleared the IIT-JEE, one of the most challenging entrance exams in the country with a brilliant All India Rank of 14. In the recent past students like Kumar Kapil, Bharadwaj Pilaka, Bishwanath Panda, Sushmita Pilaka, Vibhanshu Abhishek, Anisha Trivedi, Abhishek Sahoo, Priya Mishra and Bhabna Das have done their alma mater proud by winning laurels at international and national competitions.

The school boasts of a high number of students scoring 90+ aggegrate in the board exams every year. Success rate is nearly 99% and its a rarity that a student fails in the board exam.

The academic calendar is always full of extra-cirricular events including debates, elocutions, quizzes, march-past competitions, moral science programes, and annual sports meet.
